Open Positions in the Laboratory of Dora Angelaki.
Assistant Professor NT-track/Lab Co-Director: MULTISENSORY PERCEPTION & COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE
A non-tenure track faculty position is available to co-direct a non-human primate laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston TX. We study the neural basis of multisensory perception and sensorimotor integration in macaques, with a focus on vision, computation, spatial orientation, spatial navigation, visuospatial memory and eye/head/body movements. Techniques employed in the laboratory include multi-electrode recording, non-human primate psychophysics, computational modeling, microstimulation and inactivation.
We are looking for applicants with a strong background in computational and systems-level neurobiology, preferably with expertise in cortical vision. Experience in electrophysiology or macaque behavior is also desirable. Good programming/mathematical skills (e.g. Matlab) are requirements. Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, psychology, engineering, computer science or a related discipline and at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience in macaque neurophysiology and/or psychophysics. The position requires at least 50% T&E on lab management and supervision, but the remaining time could be devoted to independently-funded projects of the applicant.
Applicants should send current CV, a letter describing their interests and future goals, together with the names and telephone numbers/email addresses of three references to:
